The current ecological changes connected to climate change are especially strong and dramatic in arctic and subarctic ecosystems. There are strong indications of ecological shifts in the small rodent community and because small rodents are key herbivores in tundra ecosystems, this will also influence several of the predators that are tightly connected to these ecosystems. In this project we will analyse long term data on small mammals and predators in the Swedish mountain region. We are especially interested in different scenarios of climate driven changes in the rodent dynamics and how this would influence predators such as the arctic fox and birds of prey.
