Environmental work at the department of Zoology

The department of Zoology work actively with environmental issues in order to minimise our negative impact on the environment. We take responsibility for the environment in our daily work, and we continuously evaluate our environmentalefforts for a constant progress.

As a co-worker you should be familiar with the central environmental policy of Stockholm University, and with our local environmental plan. These are unfortunately yet only available in Swedish. Our local plan founds the base of our development and is yearly revised. The focus areas of the environmental plan changes from year to year. This year we should focus on getting better at minimising our paper consumption, energy consumption and the number of flight travels, and we will also make an effort to improve the environmental considerations in the lab. You are welcome to give suggestions of what you think should be included in next years plan!

In 2009 the department of Zoology received a diploma for our environmental work. The university as a whole aims at getting an environmental certification in 2013. We're a bit ahead!
