Research interests

My research focus on the impact from offshore constructions, e.g. wind farms, on fish and invertebrates. I study the reef effect, both experimentally and in field studies. Further, I measure the sound (sound pressure and particle acceleration) generated by the wind turbines and relate that to fish hearing for disturbances effects. Most studies are performed using scuba diving and underwater photo and filming.

- DOWNVInD is an integrated project (i.e. it entails both RTD (Research & Technological Development) and Demonstrator activities) with funding from the EC 6th framework program. At Stockholm University we are looking at the environmental effects to the marine ecosystem from offshore wind farms in terms of effects from artificial reefs, electromagnetism and noise. Project period 2006-2009. To the DOWNVInD project.

- VINDVAL is a national project, financed by the Swedish Energy Agency, to study the effects from offshore wind farms on the marine environment. This is collaboration between the department of zoology and meteorology. We measure the noise emitted from a wind turbine and the whole farm to make sound propagation model for the Baltic Sea. Project period 2006-2010.To the Vindval projects.
