  Some Interests

I am married with three children. To see what my kids Oskar, Simon and Magnus look like, click here for a few new, older or really old pictures.

An interest that I have pursued with dedication is travelling. We have moved back to Sweden from Nairobi, Kenya, last summer. Check out some pictures here, or some old pictures here.

My wife Anna does not have her own home page, but you can visit her place of work at Save the Children Sweden, Rädda Barnen.

A two-year stay in India made it necessary for me to read up on different religious beliefs. Doing this made me adopt the very Indian beleif that there are many ways to reach enlightenment; each person has to figure out personally which path to pursue. As a scientist I could be said to follow the path of jnana yoga (not that I claim to be wise - but I sure would like to be).

  Creationists

Being a biologist I am particularly allergic to the different teachings of creationism, so I have included some of their links for your "enjoyment". My moment of understanding about these guys came when I realized that they lie. Repeatedly. Knowingly. You can inform them all you like, but they still repeat the same false information. That is called lying and is not something any God endorses in any of the holy books that I have read.

Muslim creationists
Haryn Yahya
The Science Research Foundation

Hindu creationistst - Hare Krishna
Science from the Krishna News Network - search for "evolution" to get information

Christian creationists
Centre for Scientific Creation
Creation Science
The Revolution Against Evolution web-site has a good list of creationist web-sites
Christian Answers.Net supplied me with a favourits quote (check this place out, its great): "Pathfinder is [because of the findings of water on Mars] confirming the Genesis account of a very destructive deluge, a catastrophe which extended beyond the Earth into the whole solar system." Dr. Russ Humphreys. (I can't find the quote anymore, but it was there...I promise).
Creation Science Resources - If you ever wondered things like "How did Noah get all those animals on the arc?" then this is the place to go. (Someone has apparently calculated the arc's capacity to 125 280 animals. Divide that by seven and you get 17 897.14 (oops, doesn't divide evenly - an error in the bible? God forbid). Anyway, if you trust that other bible passage you can divide by two instead and get 62 640. Where do we put all the extant animals, all the extinct animals, and what about the terrestrial plants? Some boat! Not that you need a natural explanation for something supernatural... what are these people thinking?)

Antidotes
Science and Creationism - Just to counter all that crap, here is the view of the (American) National Academy of Sciences.
Things creationists hate - Great site containing, for example, more calculations on the arc and suggestions for creationist science projects.
